My Path to Baptism

I grew up in a communist country at a time in history that every one was taught that there was no God. Believing in God was prohibited. I spent most of my life to study and to build a successful career in this natural world. In retrospect, the opportunity to come to the U.S. for my post-graduate training was a path God prepared for me without me even knowing it. The Lord God Almighty has chosen me in him before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4) and has predestinated me unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will (Ephesians 1:5). It is by God’s good will, mercy, grace, and lovingkindness that I was saved, being baptized in water and in the holy ghost in the powerful and blessed name of Jesus.

To make the long story short, I was baptized in water in the Chinese Baptist Church during my study in Houston, in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I received the holy ghost in the Lakewood Church. I witnessed God’s supernatural miracle powers manifested in Benny Hinn’s conferences. I experienced the healing powers on others through my prayers. My journey with God grew steadily and with great depth over the past decade as I relocated to several other places until I moved to Connecticut.  “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon (Matthew 6:24).” My career success in CT blinded my spiritual sights, which gave the devil an opening to attack me. At the lowest point of my life, God spoke to my husband to come to Faith. At Faith, I started to restore my renewed Christian walk with our Lord Jesus under the spiritual guidance of our beloved Pastor Kent Elliott. At faith, I received again the water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ. That was a glorious day. I felt the glory of God all over me through the water baptism; His holy presence touched my innermost soul and spirit.

“People dislike hard places, becoming discouraged and filled with fear. But God often works best when His children are in the hardest of places. Those desperate situations can be the beginning of the breakthrough to blessings, for God often uses the hard places to turn everything around.” By the faith of God, I firmly believe that there will be the start of a new outpouring of miracles for the children of God at Faith Tabernacle.

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33).”
