Kingdom Treasure – Prophecy Fulfilled
“They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.” Matthew 2:11 NLT
Let me remind you again that when you commit your everything to God, it will seem uncomfortable to you.
I am not just talking about just your finances, but I am talking about your life too. It will seem unreasonable to you. It will not make sense in your human thinking.
You will never be able to figure it all out. You will not be able to calculate all the risks involved. And human logic will always steer you away from the fulfilling the prophetic Word in your life.
BIBLICAL EXAMPLES:
- Abraham / Ishmael (human logic) vs Abraham / Isaac (prophetic word)
- 10 spies (human logic) vs two spies (prophetic word)
Both of these examples show what happens when someone is focused on what makes sense. Abraham having a child with Sarah at their advanced age seemed impossible. They decided to take matters in their own hands and Ishmael was born. He was NOT the child promised by God.
When scouting out the Promised Land in the Old Testament, only two of the spies came back speaking in faith. The other 10 focused on their natural reality and paid serious consequences.
These stories should remind you that you need to stop trying to figure out how it is all going to play out and just trust that God is NOT going to let you down.
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” Romans 12:1
In the Christmas story, everything about Mary, Joseph, the wiseman and others were a part of this prophetic fulfillment. They all had to believe beyond the natural and trust that God was doing a supernatural work through them. A work that would not only would affect their lives, but millions of lives to come.
This month we are specifically talking about opening our treasures, something that doesn’t make sense in the natural.
I believe what we are doing will affect thousands of lives all around the world. We may not see it now but we can be used to help others find Jesus in the future!
We open our treasures for three orphanages in Haiti, Guatemala, and the Philippines so children can not only find a home but be free from abusive situations and can find Jesus!
We open our treasures for an adoption agency so a birthmother can choose life instead of ending a life.
We open our treasures for Metro Missionaries to bring Jesus to big cities in North America.
We open our treasures to help buy vehicles for missionaries to carry the gospel all around the world.
We open our treasures to help train national leaders around the globe so they can better reach people in their countries.
We open our treasures to go to Access Challenge Nations and send missionaries into countries that the gospel has not permitted to go.
All of this seems unreasonable and not logical. It’s not logical to give up the temporary for the eternal.
I believe it goes back to fulfilling prophesy.
When the wise man opened their treasures and presented their gifts, they did it unto Jesus. But the gifts were used by Mary and Joseph to fulfill the mission of Christ.
Every time we obey God’s voice, we help fulfill his Word.
When we give to missions, we are giving to a cause to help further the message of Christ.
Thank you for being uncomfortable. Thank you for giving when it doesn’t make sense.
Thank you for doing with less now, so others can find Jesus!
Afterall, it is our reasonable service unto him.
What has God been speaking to you probably defies your logic. Are there commitments God has been talking to you about that you have kept pushing off because they do not make sense?
This could be the very day you put your logic to the side and make some unreasonable decisions.
One decision might be fulfilling the Gospel in your life and submitting your life to Christ.
One decision might be a commitment to something that God is asking you to lay aside in order to be closer to Him.
Maybe, since COVID, you have taken a backseat on some things, and you need to get back in the front seat.
Whatever the decision, obedience will lead you back to fulfilling his prophetic plan for your life.
Stop trying to figure out how everything is going to play out and trust that God knows exactly where you are and has a plan for your life.
