BE: Be Hopeful.
“So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us.
This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.” Hebrews 6:18-19 NLT
The spirit of the world today has lost its hope. We have lost hope for ourselves.
We have lost hope for others. We have lost hope both in the present and for our future.
Our hearts have been heavy. Our spirits have been weak. Our courage has faded. Our outlook has dimmed. It is getting harder to wake up in the morning. It seems like winning is just the thing of the past.
We speak more death into our day then we speak life.
The life God has planned for us has become out of focus because we are focusing more on the seen, and not on the unseen.
THIS IS NOT GOD’S WILL!
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1
“What is faith? It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead.” Hebrews 11:1 TLB
God wants to give you the confidence and assurance that what He has promised will come to pass. He finishes what He starts!
The key to our faith and hope is the certainty that even if it doesn’t happen today, God will still come through.
Hebrews 11 is the hall of fame of people of faith.
These men and women lived waiting on God.
By faith, Noah built a boat. He was hopeful.
By faith, Abraham offered his son, Isaac. He was hopeful.
By faith, Sarah conceived in her advanced age. And, although she laughed, she was hopeful.
By faith, Joseph went through a life of hell. He remained hopeful.
By faith, Moses made a choice to stand with God, instead of Pharoah’s household. He was hopeful.
Guzik comments, “You don’t need an anchor for calm seas. The rougher the weather, the more important your anchor is.”
If you have anchored your hope and assurance to this world, you need to pull up your anchor.
Winds will blow and rain will fall. If you aren’t anchored to Jesus, they will destroy you. When you build your house in the sand, IT WILL FALL.
When you are anchored to Jesus, this world cannot take your hope away.
Let the rain fall. BE HOPEFUL!
Let the wind blow. BE HOPEFUL!
Let the floods come. BE HOPEFUL!
“I will exalt you, Lord, for you rescued me. You refused to let my enemies triumph over me. O Lord my God, I cried to you for help, and you restored my health. You brought me up from the grave, O Lord. You kept me from falling into the pit of death.
Sing to the Lord, all you godly ones! Praise his holy name. For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime. Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.” Psalm 30:1-5 NLT
